You get a bed and a mattress cover but you provide your own stuff. it's like that everywhere. if you go into the general university discussion area of the forum, there's an extensive list of what you'll need.
as i'm going to be staying in halls, i want to make my room as nice as possible. therefore, i was wondering if nottingham allow you to put up posters & have fairy lights, as some institutions disallow this, as they apparently infringe health & safety regulations.
i remember reading through the accommodation letters, and i don't think there are any specifics on this...however, i could be wrong:p:
posters are fine but if you use blue tack and it doesn't come off the walls or it rips off some of the paint, you get charged for it.
fairy lights...technically you're not supposed to have them but i've not seen them tell anyone to remove theirs.

Scorpio: Predict future. Most erotic. Very high sex appeal. Great in bed. Find power through LOVE

Is that true :excited:
I'm taken so I think that proves it  :p:
Need some advice please.

I'm going to be staying in one of the flats at Broadgate Park and the letter said I'd have to pay the first instalment before 21/09/2008. The problem is that I'm intending to use the student loan to pay towards the fees but I'll get this the day after - 22/09/2008. What do I do?? Does anyone else have the same problem? (Sorry if this has already been asked, I haven't read the whole thread.)

Hate to do an NMM to you (medics might get me) but i'm in the same boat except i've got to pay on 1st and loan comes in on the 22nd. Luckily I have the £1500ish saved up so i'll just pay it out of that but its a bit weird ain't it. Don't know if anyone has any solutions but Bren said you should email some address (its on your offer letter) and that should be fine (I haven't done it because its too much hassle :p:)

uni park payments are covered by the NH who are different to broadgate UPP. if you've got a problem, email broadgate's finance officer or give them a call and they could possibly arrange something with you.
can you ask your parents to loan you the money and then pay them back once you get the loan? or maybe you could make a partial payment? for the latter again, ask broadgate if it's ok.

For BGP, if we're going to pay the whole fee at once (for the 3% discount), do we just calculate fee with the discount (0.97x total) ourselves and send them a cheque for the new amount?
Not sure, i think you pay it then you get the refund. better ask them (BGP) to be sure.
anyone pay the whole amount upfront so they can get a 3% discount? Also if I payed in installments and I wanted to leave after a term, would I still have to pay the full amount?
you'd have to discuss it with the finance officer.

I went to Nottingham yesterday and decided to pop down to St Peter's court.. let's just say i really didn't like the area it was in. I didn't realise it was so industrial and it was kinda.. spooky?

Anywho i'm going to ring up Manor Village and Raleigh Park tomorrow to test my luck, and so does anyone recommend any one in particular? I'm leaning towards manor village right now..
they're all in the same area..like 3 mins walk from each other.

La Trampa...

Astounding how much work you've been doing over the weekend. Thanks soooo much for this, it's really great to have someone that knows their stuff!

Bren
Haha no worries
Maybe I should work for the accommodation office or something :p:
