Most of my friends are moving into their Universities on Saturday. For Notts, I was told any time after 10am on Sunday. Is this correct? or can we come on Saturday?

10am onwards on Sunday. The only exception would be for people going to BGP who have been specifically told they can arrive on Saturday. If you look at your contract, it will have a 'start date' printed on it, which will almost certainly be Sunday 21 September.
Don't come on Saturday unless you have been told to by your accommodation provider - they will turn you away if you turn up early.

All accomodation move in dates are Sunday, after 10am for halls or from 9am for bgp.
You can only move in on the saturday by pre-arrangement under special circumstances.
Like has been said, you will get turned back if you turn up early.

I was told 8am for broadgate on the Sunday in an email
Yeh it's 8am but not many people actually turn up before 9am.too lazy.
For Raleigh Park, I was told Saturday, and I need to pay my first rent payment by the saturday
Hey, I was just wondering how we connect to the internet in our rooms. Is it wireless, or by a cable?? If it is by cable, do we need to bring a cable with us??

by ethernet cable, if you don't have one, I think you can buy one on campus. :^_^:

your laptop will also go through a security procedure to make sure your laptop has sufficient virus protection stuff on! and if it doesn't, the installation cd will prompt you to download their recommendations.

Ethernet cables are available free of charge in all university-managed accommodation. In many cases, one will be in your room or in your welcome pack when you arrive.

Couple of questions about SPC.
1)The internet that comes included, I guess, is quite limiting. (i.e. not very fast + bandwidth cap). How much does it cost to get the upgraded version?
2) I've heard conflicting information regarding the gym. Is it actually free, or is it simply the fact that there's no signing up fee?

1) http://www.u-want.com/internet_faqs.html#eight - £4.99 a week, apparently. Up to you to decide if it's worth it.

Thanks. £4.99 per week? Wow, that's quite dear. Approx. 32 term weeks, so around £160. Since I rely so heavily on the internet, I'm guessing there's not much choice :shifty:
the basic internet isn't bad at spc. i've experienced both and they're both ok.

In that case, I'll see how it pans out. Good thing is, you can pay weekly, so it's not too much hassle if I decide to upgrade.
Thanks!

They are already there. Also, only shirts and smart trousers need ironing... and for shirts you can always get non-iron ones

Hmmm, i'm at Cripps too. But i was hoping either: My neighbour has an iron + ironing board to borrow or they have one in the laundry room? (I have no idea how to wash clothes!!!) Bad times! Lol, i'll just phone up my parents.

They are in the laundry area. There's not enough room in your room for an ironing board!

Well, orginially started off on the degree course for German and History. Then switched to Theology, 'cos it's better. Finished the year in G/Hist though, so it still counts for something.
