No but i'm thinking about doing so in 2009. I was thinking (for about a second) about doing the Blackpool half-marathon (coming up in late Feb) but i don't really have the desire to prepare for and do this at the moment. A half and full marathon scheduled for 2009

Awesome  I was hoping to run this april, but only if my body allows me , because I haven't been training at all for past few months. Do you have to be a blackpool residence to participate?

The Blackpool half-marathon is on the 26th February.

Anyone, from any part of the country, can apply to do this half-marathon. I believe the race package fee is £18, this includes registration, t-shirt and medal etc... quite reasonable when compared to the relatively expensive £26 (i think) for the Manchester 10km - which is held sometime every May.

I missed the entry ballot for it and the charity places said they had too many applicants (in november/dec so they're definitely gone now). There was some available but they want £2000+ sponsorship.

Anyway i'm doing the BUPA Manchester 10K for the 3rd time this year and the Liverpool half marathon.

Is anyone else a member of a running club?

No, i'm not that hardcore

I did the BUPA Manchester 10kms last year. Ran it in 44 mins 45 seconds. Personal best for me I'm sure i could shave off 3-4 minutes if i dedicated myself to running a little more.

It was ok last year, i was running with a stitch for about 2kms, and it came on just as i was running around Old Trafford, Theatre of Dreams.
