Learning about Digital Marketing - best resources?

I am currently trying to 'up-skill' you might say. I am already a Graduate and current Postgraduate student but find myself wanting to land an entry level position in Marketing/Digital Marketing.

While, the experiences or qualifications I hold don't directly relate to this, I am a creative design student, and so to some extent I have designed Marketing materials for clients, I just don't have the specific knowledge or commercial exp to land a job in Digital Marketing.

I understand the terms PPC, Social Media Marketing and most of the Jargons, but I've never actually found any resource that goes any deeper without getting too complex.

They all go full steam ahead without letting you catch your train of thought.

I have looked for courses on Udemy, but they seem pretty complex (even the beginners ones!), for the reasons above. They go too fast!

I can't yet afford to spend money, as i am skint for next few months.

The reason I want to learn more is because I want to start some sort of blog, and then market it, and build a community base around it, so I can show perspective employers.

Any good resources you have in mind?

I don't know of anyone on here who can help but you may get some responses. I would just spend some time on google looking up terms and what they mean and then thinking about doing a beginners course. Yes things can get a bit complex but only you can work out what is too complex for you. Maybe try and get some work experience as well?

Many thanks for your response. Those resources look interesting, I'll study those more closely on my day off.

I get what you mean about Udemy. Similarly, what do you make of Udacity?

As part of my course, I have premium access to Lynda and pluralsight, so I may have to look on there for resources also.
