I want to study Psychology at University and I’ve received an unconditional from Leeds Beckett University. If I firm this, does this mean I have to go there? Or can I make the decision by the time my exam results come.

Beware! If you firm an unconditional, you are COMMITTED to attend it in September even if you get UUU on results day (God forbid, but just saying). I would have made it my insurance choice unless it is unconditional on firming.

In theory, yes. In practice, no. You can reject them at any point up to registration day.

If you firm an unconditional offer then the only route available if you change your mind is to ask Leeds Beckett to let you go. If they agree with that request then they can place you into clearing.

If you’re considering accepting an unconditional offer then WAIT. If you’re still sure it’s your favourite choice in April then make it official on Track. At least you know you didn’t change your mind for 3/4 months so can feel comfortable that you’re not likely to change your mind again. And if you do change your mind between now and the end of April then you aren’t locked into the decision on Track.
