I need some help with my physics homework.

1) Describe the energy transfers that take place to boil water in a boiler.

2) Describe the energy transfers that takes place when a person jumps out of an aeroplane.

3) Describe the energy transfer that takes place when a car brakes.

What do you not understand?

There are a limited number of energy transfers, your task is to write down the order in which they occur for the required questions, and understand the meaning of each term.

Energy transfer must comply with energy conservation laws. i.e. energy can transfer from one form to another but cannot be created or destroyed

Energy is described by the following forms:

Gravitational Potential Energy
Elastic Potential Energy
Kinetic Energy
Chemical Energy
Nuclear Energy
Electrical Energy
Heat Energy
Magnetic Energy
Light Energy
Sound Energy

Check out the BBC bitesize website for descriptions:

I can't really help you with this one but what I'd recommend is thinking about how they work? What's involved in the process of boiling water? What happens when a person jumps out of an aeroplane? What do you think happens inside a car when the brakes are applied? The better understanding you have of each of the energy transfers, the easier you'll find it answering these questions.
