Oxford graduate students 2008/2009

Hi,

I was reading through the different topics and couldn't find any threads from Oxford graduate students. I have an offer for an MSt 2008/09. Anyone else with an offer? Or planning to apply?

Yeah that's the one I applied for too. I got my offer by letter last Friday. What did you apply for?

I'm in a small department so maybe that's why I heard back from them so quickly.

You're more likely to find graduate students in the postgrad forum than on here. I did an MSt at Oxford in English last year (English 1900-Present), and TSR member Angelil is currently doing one (Linguistics). Well done on your offer :smile:

Can I just ask you, how long after the offer letter did you hear something from the College? Did you get into your first choice college and what kind of conditions did they set?

My 1st is St.Cross as well :biggrin:

I choosed it cuz I think it has got a good mentor system....

Yeah they did include the condition within the letter:
- Achieve a score of 9 or better in final year courses.

I have written them already about that, cuz I do not know if they want be to get a 9 or a 10 (the highest) in every course I am taking this year, or if the average of the grades this year has to be above 9. Plus, they did not say anthing about my final thesis, how good it should be, the grade expected etc.

What the hell is St. Cross? Never even heard of it!

I haven't heard yet, I've applied to 1. Christ Church and 2. Hertford for MSt history of art with visual culture

I doubt i'll be given an offer unfortunately
