Thanks! I can tell you exactly: I applied in January, got an e-mail from the department on Feb 27th, and a letter from college on April 11th; this seems fairly typical, but it can vary a lot.
Yep, sounds about typical in terms of timescale I hope you enjoy yourself at Magdalen - it is beautiful (although rather too big for my liking) and of course central. Hopefully it is close to your department as well

Heh. This isn't a specific response to your post, really, but I love how Magdalen is always thought of as "central" and Hilda's as "way out there", even though they're only a two-minute walk apart.
Has anyone who has an offer for the MPhil in Economics heard about ESRC funding?
I don't want to sound a downer, but the nominations will have gone through about 5 weeks ago now. If they haven't informed you yet, it's not a good sign as they have to ask candidates to fill in the Je-S submission before that date
third gathered field being January 18th? Erm, well this might not help but I got my college offer about a month and a half ago... guess it depends on subject too?
I am in the same situation. I heve been offered a place in January (MSc in maths ..), but i still dont know about my college. I just know from the department that my two college choices didnt choose me, so they are trying to find me place elsewhere.
So it seems Oxford want a £200 non-refundable deposit if I accept the offer? Given that the offer is conditional on a 1st, and if I get a 2.1 then i take it the £200 won't be refunded?
