There's nothing wrong with the age gap. Give it a go if it's what you want!

I just turned 12, I'm going into year 8 and I'm going out with a year 9 who's nearly 14. There's nothing wrong with an age gap of 2-3 years. I'd go for it as long as you know you definitely love him and he is good for you. If it's a silly little crush that lasted for less than 4 months, see if he likes you. Start conversations with him to see how he responds. If you're shy and don't know how to start conversation just ask him a question like

Of course it's alright for a year 8 to date a year 9. My sister dated a year 11 when she was in year 7, so if that's apparently fine (I didn't think it was fine) then you're fine to date a year 9. There's only about a year age difference anyway.

ok just to clarify dating a year 7 when you're in year 11 IS NOT OK ON ANY LEVEL. Jesus a 16 year old with an 11 year old, that guy was dating a ****ing infant wtf!!

My mum wasn't happy with it. Luckily, they're not together anymore cause he left the school and then broke up with her. Then she dated a year 9, while still in year 7, who dumped her.

You’re too young to date. Wait until you’re at least 16. Enjoy the innocence and naivety of childhood.

True but the year 11 could be 15 and the year 7 12 years old
