The quality of education you get from non private in comparison is shocking. Most elites are privately schooled.

I have been in private education for over 5 years and have recently swapped to a state college and the amount of learning that goes on at a private school is completely different. No one at the state school wants to learn and I just sit around learning nothing. At private school people are paying to be taught well so that is what they get.
Its like shoes and food. Pay more and you get a better ending.

Some people really value the higher quality of private schools (not just in terms of exam results, but for the experience and personal development in general) and are willing to pay for it.
