This is my approach to the question, but I appear to be out by roughly 5cm in my final answer.

I figured that the kinetic energy at O and at the maximum distance would be 0, so I ignored it altogether in the conservation of energy.

Skimmed through it, but noticed that you said l+e=106.45l+e=106.45 whereas 0.7+0.3155=1.01550.7+0.3155=1.0155 instead
