There are loads of things you could do with a sociology degree. Have you ever thought about social work or welfare work? You could always look at careers with the police aswell

Dont worry too much about not knowing what you want to do. I didnt have a clue what I wanted to do all though uni. Then after finishing uni I found a job that was perfect for me and have never looked back. I am now working in youth offending and I love it, I cant imagine myself doing anything different now. If you want more info, feel free to PM me

She wants to know what she CAN do. To be honest, I'd be fairly worried if I was pumping £3000 + a year into university and my time on top of that and I didn't have any plans for after graduation.

You can do a law conversion if you wanted to.
I feel so sorry for people doing sociology...such a waste of three years at uni. One of the least respected degrees by employers. I suggest you start doing a load of extra curriculars, get some leadership roles on societies etc to boost your cv. start looking for work experience in several different sectors so you can find out what you want in a job. i would suggest a nice career would be workig for a big multinational like unilever or proctor and gamble as a brand manager, or in marketing. nice salary and career progression, no specific skills needed.

thanks!!!
when i picked it i was under the impression sociology was a degree that looked good to employers with the skills you gained blah blah blah but obviously not! i have previuosly thought about promotion and marketing, but i guess i need to think about all my options & what i would enjoy.
You could join the police or the army.

The lack of maths won't make a difference in applying for finance?
My sister did Sociology and is a teacher now.
It is good for plenty of careers, although a lot of them will require further qualifications/training.

Is that what you want to be doing yourself, something involving management and leadership? I can imagine you'd be well-received by those working under you

anyway, where was I?

Sociology, if it's a good degree class from a very good/excellent university, then it can certainly act as somewhat of a door-opener. And we all like opening those doors, don't we?
False advertisement......

You could apply for general graduate schemes
i love how people still go on about sociology being a mickey mouse degree despite it being offered at the top unis in the country *rolls eyes* sure its not a specific degree, but as people have said, it opens many doors as the areas it covers are very wide!!!

A lot of jobs often just require you to have a degree, not a specific one, so I wouldn't worry about what you can do, there's a lot you can do with a sociology degree!
