Official Explanation: Kim Jong-Un has ordered the evacuation of the city in preparation for World War 3.

Alternative Explanation: There aren't many people in North Korea because it is a fake country.

Official explanation: the people are too poor to have electricity

Alternative explanation: there is nobody there.
Although I'm fairly anti-establishment, think I'll side more towards the official line on this one.:wink:
In the communist economy, you do plenty of stupid things, but you don't waste electricity only to create light pollution, especially if nightlife is inexistent and practically illegal.

Aye, however the initial statement on the lights in North Korea is so imprecise that a limited consumption for rubbish-purposes can be explained also simply with the rational use of electricity.
