I first read Face years ago, it remains one of my favourite books that I have re-read many times. Zephaniah's writing has a way of drawing you in and totally making you think about things in a different way. I love the way the messages of his books can universally apply. His poetry and books really are awesome, in a league of their own, utterly incomparable. The only negative thing I can say is that he should have written more!

he is brilliant, he is the only person whose poems and books I like (Shakespeare got nothing on him)

Yeah I read it a few years ago and I enjoyed the story, nice ending too. My sister has all of Benhamin Zephaniah's books and she thinks they are all really good!

Just got Face and Refugee Boy out of the library. You reminded me about them so I decided to re-read them! There's a new one out called 'Teacher's Dead', look forward to reading that aswell. http://www.benjaminzephaniah.com/content/195.php

I read it in Year 8. Thought it was a positive change for a class book as it dealt with a more modern set of issues.

His poetry is also fantastic. I would recommend it definately.
