I feel like a complete waste of space

Just tried phoning the uni nightline, but couldn't talk because I was going to start crying.

Someone on my course really hates me, and the police have been involved for the last few months but got nowhere. :frown:

I don't know who on earth to talk to, as it needs to be someone without a 'duty of care' if I want SS to stay out of the equation. Not sure knowing would help if I can't even open my mouth (feel guilty as I think I woke the nightline person up).
What has this person done to you? :s:

"just" bullying...trouble is that some universities have covered their safeguarding policies by lumping 'vulnerable' adults (anyone who needs physical assistance for basic functions) in with the under 18s.

This means that any serious 'abusive' behaviour has to be reported to the police, who in turn have a duty to contact social services.

Problem is I don't know who it is, but as the uni contacted the Police again today I'm scared.
forget about waking the nightline person up - they should be awake anyway, and listening to you is what they're supposed to do.

can you tell us what this person is doing?
Try nightline again. That's what their there for.
OP: don't worry - I can assure you that you're not a waste of space. I come across actual wastes of Earth resources (i.e. chavs) all the time. I suspect the police is helpful. Try ringing them when these hate episodes happen. What does this imbecile do to you exactly? If it's just verbal, just pretend you don't see him. It's a very effectively way of getting ***** to shut up as they're just talking to themselves.

tell your uni tutor or someone in a similar position your concerns. if they know how much you don't want authorities involved, it might affect what they do.

does your uni have a confidential advice and councelling service? it might be useful.

You said you don't know who it is? How are you sure that they are on your course? Does it take place in lectures?

It's mostly not verbal, my tutors know, and it's all been classroom based. It's a postgrad course, so people are moving around the room all the time anyway. Can't pin it down to an exact person :frown:

Still don't know who to talk to, as nightline's main comment was mmm, and I could hardly talk to them anyway due to not holding the phone properly.
