Random guy said I was the realest N* he has ever met

Is this an insult? Basically this guy was being harrased by some security guards because he walkef out the store and the alarms went of. He stopped and security grabbed him. He was saying hes done nothing and even emptied his bag and pockets, they got him to walk through again and it went off. They were really handling him harshley so I stepped in and gave them some lessons in law, long story short it turned out the guys belt kept setting it off due to the material or something. Anyway after all this he said and I quote “maaan you the realest out here, you the realest N I have ever met, thanks” he bumped my fist and left me confussed.
