Should I message him?

I was dating this guy for roughly 5 months and we broke it off recently with him initiating the break up but it was pretty mutual. I matched with his friend the other day on tinder...whilst he knows about me, I've never met him. He hasn't messaged me but I am genuinely interested in him.

By matching with me, I take it that he's at least a little interested in me. Him and his friend (the guy I dated) are quite close so I don't know if this is why he hasn't gone any further and messaged. Or it could be a confidence thing. I just don't want to message him, to have him not respond and go off and show his friend. Should I message him first or leave it?
i mean if you want to message him do it, there's no harm in saying hi! and if he doesnt reply, its his loss :smile:

May as well go for someone else since you're looking at a lot of people. No point giving yourself a reason to get close with your ex again.
