applying for job within tesco when already working at tesco

just wondering how this works? If i were to see a vacancy in another department at my store how would i go about applying for it and would i need to tell my current manager i'm applying for a role in another department?
i work in dotcom atm but keeping an eye out for any other vacancies as my contracted hours aren't enough and we've been told there is no overtime until at least april
Yeah... If they are advertising a position ask if you can switch to it.
I have recently applied for another store role with more hours, I wrote a cover letter to the manager of the department advertising stating I was interested in the position and all my skills and why I thought I was suitable for the role. I’m awaiting a reply on my application.
