Hi,

I am looking to apply to student finance for 2018/19. I was wondering what options there are for receiving the maintenance loan; is receiving it in one payment an option and approximate payment dates.

Thank you

Hi Sjsmith,

The applications for 2018/19 aren't available just yet, they should be launched around the end of February/beginning of March time.

The Maintenance Loan (ML) is paid in 3 installments. 1 at the beginning of each term. The payment dates depend on your course term dates which are held on a database. However, to give you an idea of how most courses work, if your course started on the 17/09/2018. The payment dates would most likely look something like this:

Installment 1- 17/09/2018.
Installment 2- 07/01/2019.
Installment 3- 22/04/2019.

The payments are split into installments of 33%, 33% and 34%.

Kind regards,

John.
