I am in year 12 and am currently taking Biology, Sociology and English Literature as my A levels. For a few months I've really enjoyed biology and want to continue studying it at university and also medical school, i spoke to my Biology teacher and she also encouraged me. So, I started to look at medical schools and discovered that you must have chemistry A level or at least have an A in Chemistry GCSE whilst I got a B. I spoke to my career advisor about this and she said that my best option was to first study a science degree and then i will be able to go to medical school. She told me that Medical Microbiology is a good option as it only requires Biology. However, I've looked at Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Queen Mary, and all of them require Biology and or maths, physics and chemistry A level but they also except science related subject but none of them seem to accept sociology. I even emailed Leeds University just to confirm and they said that with my A level combination, I was not eligible for the course. I'm so stressed right now, I have no idea what to do.

I would consider Biomedical Science degrees if you want to do something medical related. A lot may require a chemistry a level but places like Nottingham Trent University don't require it! Unis you could look at if you're interested include Nottingham Trent, Surrey, Northumbria and probably others with a bit more research.

Also you won't be likely to find anywhere that will accept sociology as a science cause it's simply not, sorry!

Hope I've helped!
