I'm in my first year studying human geography and I'm not really enjoying it maybe because I havent made any friends, but, I mainly dislike how small my city is and how remote it is in comparison to the rest of the UK. It's not got many connections to nearby cities and it has a pretty bad city reputation (undeveloped, not much to do etc). For this reason, I am thinking about transferring universities to one close by to my home town (for my second year) so that I can commute to the uni instead of live there. the reason being is that this saves money and my home city is a LOT better than my uni city. HOWEVER, I'm worried about whether or not I'll make friends or not :/ like is moving out to uni and living w flat mates the main way that people make friends??? has anyone who lived at home during uni made equally the same amount of friends as somebody who moved out?? has anyone ever made a met their friend for life in a society ?:/
Another thing, idk if I really want to study human geography anymore, I'm thinking about taking a gap year in between my 1st and 2nd year of university. Mainly so that I can gain perspective in the real world and just take some time off to decide whether I want to continue with geography or whether or not I want to study a different degree (philosophy/sociology/religion). pls help would love ur opinions&suggestions
