IB - Does ECF always apply for Physics HL Paper 2?

Hello,

I basically took a test on Topic 4: Waves today (Physics HL Paper2) and I made a mistake on a question, which resulted in another error on the next question. The question had 0.882 ms on it but I mistook it for 0.882s - this got me 0.21Hz and 0.34m/s when the answer was 210Hz and 340m/s. There were two marks for the frequency and two marks for the speed of the wave.

Since I got the frequency wrong in the first place because I hadn't seen the milli, the speed was also wrong. Consequently I thought ECF would apply and I would receive 2 marks out of 4. However, I took a look at the mark scheme and it doesn't mention anything about ECF on the notes section.

Does this mean that I lose all 4 marks or do I still have a fair chance of receiving 2..?

Thanks in advance:smile:
