Hi all, this is aimed particularly at those who have knowledge about the property industry and surveying as a career. I am currently in my first year studying real estate and am interested in pursuing surevying as a career. However, I have little knowledge about salaries or career progression, could any of you help me out? What can one expect as a graduate and subsequently further up the ladder at director/managerial level? Is it possible to make six figures in surveying or any othet property profession?
Thank you in advance

for building surveying, if you've a RICS-backed qualification, you can start on £22-25k (London). This will set you on your two-year training path for your APC (the exam you need to take to become RICS Chartered, i.e. qualified)
A year's experience with a firm after graduating and you're looking at 25k-30k ish (south east UK)
Once you have qualified (passed your RICS APC) you're on your way to 40k.
Senior Manager or Director for a firm: 60k-70k plus.
Consultancy, £100,000 plus, i.e. specialising in party wall agreements or valuations.
If you've got the capital, maybe start property development too. I made £100k on my last development renovating a dilapidated house. It took me 2 years whilst working too. It has paid for me to go back to uni to do a masters.. in building surveying. D
