Transport info and Accommodation advice

I've been accepted to go to Brighton in september and im trying to figure out which campus accommodation would be best for me, im located on the falmer campus for my course so i think i would like to get into the paddock field halls, but if i didnt get that i would apply for the hub at varley park. anyone who has been to brighton/ is there now, where would you say would be best for me to apply to?

also, what is the transport like around brighton? i heard there are buses running regularly but are they free? also whats the best way to get into the brighton centre from the university campus'

any other info or advice related to brighton university would be much appreciated!!
