New AQA language GCSEs-too hard?

Half the people in my spanish class failed the mocks.
The difficulty is crazy compared to past papers and idk who else has this problem but my school usually gets 50% roughly a* at languages and 100%'C+ suddenly no one got more than a 6 and this was only a few people. The teachers used the old grade scale and boundaries instead of new ones as they know them. This seems unfair as loads of people are now going to do foundation papers. I think maybe grade boundaries will just be super low...
Anyone else got similar problems ?
