So basically I want to go on this residential trip in where I can go rock climbing, camping etc. You get to go to Universities makes CVs etc it seems really cool but my parents are too overprotective and won't let me go but it will be so benefical for my personal statement. Why do I convince them?

Are you sure it's just them being over protective? Not funding issues, etc??

In that case then I suppose so! I'd definitely recommend visiting uni's as much as you can, it helped me hugely.
