I’m currently studying Mathematics, English Literature, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, German, History, Music, Welsh 2nd Language and Religious Studies at GCSE with predicted A*s in all, and I already have A*s in English Language and Numeracy.
I intend to study Law at university, and am currently stuck between 5 AS choices (and I need 4). I’m considering German, History, Maths, English Literature and Religious Studies.

Any advice from current sixth formers who intend to take Law at Uni, or current undergraduate students of Law?

Maths is an extremely heavy A level. My friend who was getting As at GCSE is still failing and our proper exams are in a few months

Universities for law tend to prefer English over maths but keep it if you want to keep your options open.

Do you really need German? The weakest subjects for Law in your list are maths and German.

German is very useful if after university, I want to go into patent law or law to do with big companies. German is also required for certain law courses that combine English/Welsh law with German Law.
I find myself currently enjoying Maths more than English, and the Religion A Level course in my high school is based on Buddhism, which I’m not sure I’m that interested in studying. For my free choice survey, I selected Maths, German, English and History. If I dropped Maths at A2, would I be considered alongside those who took English, History and Religion?
