Rarely alone but still lonely

Has anyone else felt very lonely and isolated even though they are surrounded by people, especially around close friends and family?
Absolutely. I think it comes out of not feeling understood or accepted.
I know I'm bumping a 3 month old thread but oh well. I relate to that feeling so much! In fact it feels worse to feel lonely around people than it does to feel lonely alone, in my opinion. Because you know that you’re with people who don’t make you feel accepted and you wonder why you cannot be accepted. It’s even worse if it’s family, because family is supposed to love you unconditionally. It’s exhausting as well, having to bottle up how you feel around those people. I guess we need to find those who will unconditionally accept us.

Yeah - plenty of times Ive felt lonely in a crowd and group of friends :frown:
