It's true, I know a RAG rep

God I wish I'd bribed, then bought all the RAG reps some wine. This will be all kinds of hideous. I'm no good at small talk at the best of time, if I get stuck with some ugly weirdo I'm screwed... or not screwed rather.

I'm sure you could find someone more to your liking who was dissatisfied with their blind date.
Just hope you don't end up paired with someone who's "attached", as happened to a friend of mine last year.

so do they look people up on FB or something? My friend's a RAG rep at newnham and i vaguely know one of the trinity rag reps. I hope they put in a nice word for me. I've asked for a gentleman who likes wearing suits and who has a 'wide-eyed innocent look' and 'PROPER hair with no gel, wax or spikes"
Basically they rate you out of 10 I think, and match you with someone of a similar score. They will either know you (if you're worth knowing) or it will be a bit random.

The one time that Andy Davies would have had something useful to say and he's not around.

Second year my form was so attrocious that they put me with someone who then refused to meet me. Consequently met up with Selena and Ema at Newnham and baked a chocolate cake/smoked a spliff, Bumblebee3 joined us when she got back from her date. Was a very drunken night.

I remember meeting you all that night...
Please - what's the absolute worst that can realistically happen? A slightly dull couple of hours followed by some kind of mutual excuse and another Facebook friend you don't really speak to. At best, you can have a hilarious night, or (as an outside chance) actually get off with your date. My last two blind dates were both great fun.

With regard to the scoring, I'd have thought it's a good thing - I wouldn't want to go with someone who is very much one of the beautiful people (unless I were one myself, which I'm not), as I would feel rather inadequate.

Well all shall be known tomorrow I guess. I just hope my date is civil and if I get a free din dins all the better.
why are you assuming that the bloke should pay? Would you not pay your own way?

Haha, there were a few left over forms and they tried to palm one off onto me. No chance.

Oh I'm quite happy paying my own way, don't mind in the slightest. But if despite my many prtestations they STILL insist they wanna, who am I to complain?

I think it would be ****ing funny if I was paired with some second year sloaney wannabe with delicately tousled hair and a pash draped ever so casually around her shoulders. I'd have a great time. She'd probably hate me.

Well I'm trying it again this year. Wasn't allowed to last year (as 'attached') - but hopefully looking for a re-run of 1st year, where a certain Caius 3rd year muso (on being invited for a glass of wine in my room) asked..."Why haven't you kissed me yet?"

I prefer to have people totally out of my league, I find almost no one attractive so I need really hot guys otherwise I'm not even remotely interested. So basically I'm going to end up with some ugly bloke for several hours. woo.

Yes, but didn't you write something along the lines of 'How will you know me: 'I'm the one raping you' ?!

That was an awesome night. Although it's funny how the fun part of RAG blind date is the comiserating after the awful event itself...

anyone heard back yet?

I'm gona check my pigeon hole on the way to my lecture, then if it's there I can show my friends and laugh.
We got an email last night saying forms didn't have to be completed until 1230 today, if thats the case you might not hear today.

At King's, the forms had to be in by noon yesterday. I have a feeling a lot of people will get their forms a couple of hours before the actual 'date' :/
