The Student Room Group

The Junxion

Anyone living/moving in here. What's the place like? From the pictures and description i've seen on the site, it looks really good. Anyone have anything to say about it?
Is there car parking? How much is rent? Is it suitable for first year students?

First year try your hardest to get onto the onsite student village. It might look a state but that is what will make or break uni for you, there's the other 2 years to go into posh cardboard buildings with big tv's, the first year is about going out there and getting drunk, you won't get that opportunity again!

Don't live here. I'm serious, the place is a ****ing joke. Nobody has had usable internet for weeks, they cut our bandwith every week or so and it takes about half an hour to load google. They rip you off at every ****ing corner. It says in the contract 'power showers' LIES they broke into everyones rooms over christmas and turned down the pressure so it's just a trickle (and broke my shower in the process, which they deny, meaning I'm being charged for it:mad:) it's just not worth it. Try and get into the student village!

They turned down the pressure? That was the only thing making me wanting to go back into mainstay accomodation! **** that then!

nah the walls are cardboard, will just soak it in, then you can live japanese style and walk through them as if they are doors like on the simpsons.

I told someone at work about it today and about six builders offered to come round and sort it out for me :proud:

Will you be in your first year or second/third year when you move in?
Reply 12
i'll be in my second.... i heavily recomend staying in courts if you'll be in your first year this september
Ive applied for on site courts ive decided.
What are the chanced that i wont get one?

if you have applied this early you will, don't worry about it. and good choice, you'll have so much fun!
Living in the student village is not the be all and end all people! Think how bad she's gonna feel if she doesnt get in there now? Yea its probably the best place for your first year, but you will still make friends wherever you get put... although if you dont get into the student village, brayford quay is probably the second best place for the price, location, what you get etc.. plus, the showers are amazing, you can actually fit 5 people in one!
I dont really rate the junxion, the living room/kitchen always seem really bare and not very homely..

lol five ppl!

well she will get in if shes applied this early but if not like pretty says there is other places to live and brayford quays is proberly the next best place!

and the junxion is a bit bear but thats what you have to change, you can put posters up etc to make it homley, unless your a man and make beer walls
if you willngly aply to the juncion i wish you dath. x
When i had a look round student village i noticed beer cans etc all lined up in the windows lol. It was quite amusing. Is there some kind of prize for the most or something?? Lol

dath... mean death?

thats not very nice lol why did you go there, why didn't you go else where like a house or brayford quays?

if you wash the bottles and cans they wont stick or smell or anything

EDIT : no prize, just a way to show other students how much you have drank i think,
