Im doing an investigation on microbial growth and i came upon a precaution that you musnt open your petri dish after its been incubated. What will happen if its accidentally opened?

There could be pathogens on the plate as a result of contamination, or the microbes themselves could be dangerous, so opening them could release them into the air and be harmful.
