Psychology Masters or PG dip/cert ?

Doing some research into psychology conversion courses.

Seems to be a mix of masters programmes and PG diplomas/certificates.

I've read that the pg dip can be good for some careers but not others.

Does anyone know how a pg dip/cert is valued for someone looking to become a psychologist?
Hi - sorry you haven't had a response to this yet. I'm just going to bump the thread in the hope that someone sees this and can help :h:
I have both a PG certificate and PG diploma in Psychology, I needed to do it as I want to become a psychologist but my undergrad course had no psychology in it whatsoever so I was ineligible to join the BPS. It also gives me the background required to get onto a Masters course.

Thanks for your reply.

So with your pg cert and diploma are you required to do a masters on top? And then a PhD?

The PG cert/diploma is the equivalent of the undergraduate psychology degree

I'm only doing a Masters to specialise in what I want to do, I won't be doing a PhD

I think a masters is for anyone who’s degree isn’t in psychology, but to do a pg diploma at some universities, your degree has to have a bit of psychology in the first place because it’s less credits?
