What sort of thing is it that you need to memorise? Is it lots of facts or a big piece of text or something else?
Some general advice in terms of memorising things. Split it into smaller, more manageable chunks put them on flash cards and set yourself goals such as memorising a chunk every 3 days. Read it, turn it over, try to write it out, check what you got wrong or missed, repeat.
This is coming from someone who successfully remembered hundreds of key dates for history and multiple pages of writing for Spanish (in Spanish). Those are the techniques that worked for me.
Flash cards. Look cover write check.
