Just wondering what postgraduate life is like at Newcastle? I'm looking at doing a taught masters the next year straight after my undergraduate degree at a different uni.

I'd like to know what the social life is like. Also, how much time I'll have to socialise?

Is it possible to squeeze in a part time job and do many people have part time jobs at the same time as a full time masters?

Also do postgrads get involved with Freshers week? How easy is it to meet people because I imagine it's more difficult than it is for first years? Do they tend to join societies and sports clubs or would it be weird?

Final question (I promise) is Jesmond Halls very oversubscribed? It's the cheapest and the only one I could really afford so I was just wondering what my chances of being offered a room there were.

Sorry for the million questions! Any advice at all would be great thank you!!

Hi MinnieD,

We're actually holding a Postgraduate Open Day here this Wednesday, perhaps it would be of interest to you to come see the city and talk to our staff? 😊

Hi MinnieD,

Unfortunately there'll not be another postgraduate Open Day for a while, however we also host Campus Tours and PG Café events throughout the year. When 2018 dates become available you'll be able to find them here:

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/postgraduate/meet-us/#meetus

It's also worth dropping the contacts listed on our course pages a line for more information regarding modules, schedules, general course-related queries etc. They are always happy to help 😊

Best wishes,

Susie
