Hi guys
I am looking my notes of variable oxidation states of transition metals
for general trends
it says that
relativity stability of +2 state with respect to +3 state increases across a period
CAN SOME EXPLAIN WHY THIS HAPPEN?
i looked online and what I understand is that across a period number of proton increases and atomic radius decreases so there is a more electrostatic attraction between the nucleus and outer electerons...is that right?/
