Is a cold still contagious on the 7th day of symptoms? My mum has had a cold and she is still coughing everywhere and sounds a bit rough even though she feels better. Ive been spraying and cleaning things like taps, door knobs etc as the NHS says they linger on theseplaces until the next person touches them. She thinks im OCD but thats what the evidence says so why not try to prevent catching it!

No harm in not wanting a cold, but for most people cleaning all the surfaces they touch is taking it a bit far.
Apparently you stop being contagious around 5-7 days after symptoms start so you're probably fine now.
