# M3 OCR circular motion watch

1. Particle P, mass M attached to a fixed point O by a light inextensible string, length a moving in a vertical circle centre O radius a. P is at the highest point, p=2mg. No air resistance

1. Find the speed at the highest point.
2.Find T when OP makes the angle 60' with the downward vertical.

The radial component of the resultant force is the force required to move in a circle, and circular motion equation applies.

Draw diagrams, label forces.

For 2, you'll additionally need conservation of energy to find the velocity at the given point.
