    Bought an alba and it damaged quickly -- shadowing; have sent it back to eBay and am now looking for another one!

    Depends on who it is coming from and the type of TV it is., If I was looking for a good deal it'd be ebay outlet of major retail store- picked up a cracking LG on their outlet earlier this month for half the retail price as it was older stock.

    Yes but depends on make model and price. Alba is a very cheap brand and low quality. Pioneer, Panasonic, Samsung or Sony is what I would go for , even then I would check the model number to id how old.

    When I say who from I mean seller wise? Is it a big company or just some dude selling a few 'refurbished' tvs now and then?

    Well I saw one from Argos. Bush, Toshiba JVC, etc
