    That doesn't mean they obese people are a "burden" on the NHS. I have to wonder why you would apply to be a doctor if you really have these sort of views? You're going to be dealing with different sorts of people every day and therefore cannot be judgemental like this.

    I too was once obese, a few years back- overcoming it was, and still is, the hardest thing I ever did - I get the stigma, I empathize, I genuinely do; But saying that obesity isn't an issue and not acknowledging the fact that its prevention could prevent putting an excess burden on the NHS is frankly a bit scary

    It IS an issue, but it is not a "burden". The problem is that you have worded this poorly (as if you have resentment for obese people).
    Otherwise, of course, but this can only be achieved through education.
