Hi, I'm a junior in high school, therefore I will graduate next spring. I plan to either attend the local university or move a state over to attend a college that has the program I've been looking for.

Every time I've mentioned college, I usually include my plans to move out. My mom, is very against the notion, especially when I consider the local university I could just commute to. It's extremely frustrating to fight with her about it, but I really want to be independent.

And yes, I know that living on your own is a lot more expense then living at home, I'm not naive. But how do I make her and my dad more accepting of the idea?

Have you been t this college n an open day? have you been accepted?
Maybe you could get information and show why it is a better course for you? Will you be paying yourself or are you expecting them to pay for you?
