    Although I can't help, my advice would be that if you ever need to work out the difference between two things, your first step is the write out the definition of and key ideas of each concept and then see what the differences are, if any.

    Hard drives are magnetic disks but you could have a magnetic disk that isn't a hard drive (e.g a floppy disk). I assume in the scope of the GCSE, they are the same thing unless floppy disks are also mentioned in your textbook.

    Hard disk drives implement a magnetic storage mechanism to store the data.

    Some hard disk drives use non-magnetic storage via. small bumps in a physical disk that can be read by a rotating head. Magnetic drives use magnetic tapes (for example) to store data.
