There is no reason to specifically celebrate over-representation in any profession. It is not a "good sign for the Bar" - simply a statistic.
Also, stating your belief that postitive discrimination doesn't exist within the Bar is quite weightless: you aren't a barrister (yet), so what intimate knowledge of the workings of pupillage committees can you draw on beyond your own experience in applying for pupillage? Naturally we hope it doesn't exist, but I wouldn't automatically put as much faith in the noble profession as you do.

Personally, I hope it doesn't exist within the Bar - because I have it on very good authority that it does exist within the BVC providers.

Enough controversy for now.
