I have to choose my GCSE’s soon. Should I do biology or geography GCSE? Ok before everyone says biology you need to take some info in account : I am already going to choose further maths, chemistry, physics and history (I’m defo doing those) And Spanish (we have to do a language)I have not much idea of what career I want. I’m afraid that if i don’t do biology, I will decide later on at GCSE I might want to do medicine. However, geography’s isn’t my FAV subject and I would be really sad to drop it. I am better at geography and more suited to it. but for the future biology is probs better to do.( to keep my options open) but I’m just scared I will want to do more science because I like the sciences more now than I used to . Can anyone give me advice coming from my point of view because I’m really stuck!!!

Comment down below whether you prefer biology or history and say why! Thanks so much

You get to pick sciences individually? Here you either do Triple Science (you're awarded 3 seperate GCSEs at the end with one in each) or combined (awarding 2). Aren't they compulsory? I'm very confused.

Oh yeah we have to do a minimum of one science but we don’t do double or triple award or anything like that we just do them all separately

If you want to do medicine you obvz have to do biology. If you want to do Law, you don't have to do history, and you seem less inclined towards law. If you change your mind you can usually pick up History at A level even if you haven't done it for GCSE if you have a good English grade.
It is a good idea to have a full set of sciences but for humanities it doesn't matter much at this stage so long as you do alright in English.
    Good luck m8

Interesting, so after year 9 you can drop 2 sciences and never study them again? How many options do you get to pick in total? 5?

I would go for Biology because say if you go into a history related option later on, chances are it won't be necessary to have History as it probably will focus on a different time period however if you want to do something biology related later on, it will require you to build on knowledge that you would study at GCSE. Hope this is useful to you
