    Hey All,

Almost every graduate job says they want at least 'a 2.1 in any discipline', or some variance.

Okey, but some degrees are far more practical than others. For example a degree in Engineering or Law

What do you do if you've studied something less tangible such as Social Sciences, English or Art (broadly speaking)?

I'm quite surprised about that! It might be a sign of how common degrees are now, but I don't know. What kind of jobs are those though?

All degrees definitely give you transferable skills, and I guess it depends on the individual to show those. Other work experience is always really important too, so maybe those jobs are more interested in how you apply yourself to the role rather than the knowledge you've gained from university.

Also, I think it'd be expected for those with engineering and law degrees to apply for jobs in those fields which did require their specific qualification; if it's in an unrelated job, they should be expected to prove why their degree applies to what they want to do!
