    Greetings,

A certain question in my textbook asks me to name the intermolecular forces present in liquid samples of the compounds listed.

One of them is PF3. Because of its molecules' lack of symmetry, I would assume that other than the London forces, there's also the permanent dipole-dipole interactions present. The dipoles don't cancel each other out after all, as P has a lone pair of electrons left.

The webpage containing the answers, however, has this to say:

NH3 - London forces, Hydrogen bonds
    PF3, SF6 - London forces

No mention of the permanent dipole-dipole interactions. Am I making a mistake or is the answers page just incorrect?

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

It is polar. Perhaps there is a mistake. We all make them.

the only thing I can think of is they meant BF3
