    I am a final year BSc IT student currently in the process of applying for a GDL and am trying to figure out what I would need to do after for me to become a solicitor.

    From what I can tell it's:

    2018 = GDL
    2019 = LPC
    2020 = Training contract

    Does that look right? With the LPC, im guessing the funding for that comes from the company I do the training contract with?

    What are the chances of me getting a training contract at a big law firm if I go the GDL route (ei: not having a traditional law background)?

    Yes. If you get the right TC then they will pay for your GDL as well.
    You should be checking and looking towards applying in your third year.
    As to your chances, then it is very competitive, especially for the larger firms, so it will depend on your application, extra currics, grades and interview performance.
