Social Work Entry interviewWatch
More about Sheffield Hallam University
Please I would like some information on what sort of questions to expect at the forthcoming MSW interview.
I'm not sure about the specific questions you might be asked, but this page gives you some advice on the selection day event, what to prepare and what to expect.
They say this is what they're looking for:
"In the selection event we're looking for you
- to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of social work values
- to hold knowledge of social worker roles and responsibilities
- to show enthusiasm, dedication, and an insight into service users' perspectives
- to demonstrate and understanding of the format of the course. This includes the demand and resilience required to successfully combine academic study with placements"
From this and the rest of the content on that page, it seems like they'll be asking you about your background knowledge of social work, to explain your values and how they go alongside core social work values, maybe some experience you have in similar situations, and generally to show your passion and enthusiasm for the course. I don't think there'll be any technical questions, but they'll want to find out about your personality, strengths and motivations for doing the course.
Definitely look over that page for more information! Here it is again.
I hope this helps, and good luck for your interview!
