Does making notes help revision? watch

    • Thread Starter

    Hey guys!!

Im in A2 and was wondering whether making notes really helped to endorse information into the brain.

I have 4 months till my first Alevel exam. I was planning to make handwritten notes using textbooks, memorise them and then do past paper questions.

If anyone has suggestions or techniques please feel free to share them

Help as opposed to doing what? Compared to doing nothing, making notes will of course help. But it may not necessarily be the best method for you.

Repetition aids memory and things you say or do are better remembered than things you read. So writing notes is generally more effective than reading notes. But simply memorising your notes is unlikely to be sufficient. Practicing with past papers is good but you'll want to do more than that as past papers will only subject you to a finite number of questions. Use practice questions from your textbooks, get teachers to give you additional questions, write your notes in a way that helps you remember and so on. Find what works for you
