Other Road users on driving test - Roundabouts watch

    Hi

I have my test in less than 2 weeks and was wondering if someone could confirm something for me with the following scenario:

-Approaching the roundabout you see a car that is signalling right coming from your right hand side.
-As cars on the roundabout have priority, you slow the car down and stop before entering the roundabout allowing the signalling car to pass you.
-That car then takes the previous exit with the right signal on meaning you could have previously went.

Does the fact you could have gone earlier result in a mark for undue hesitation? I’ve been thinking it won’t as cars on the roundabout have priority and are allowed to change their mind regarding what lane they are in...plus the signal clearly indicates they’re going to cross your path.

I’m probably being a bit dim but I just want to make sure that won’t result in a minor.

The chances of getting a minor for that are pretty much zero. How are you expected to know that the other car was going to take the exit? Anyway, what’s the alternative? Pull out in front of a car with its indicator showing that it’s about to come across your path? That would definitely result in a fail ( a collision).

In that situation you should move off as soon as you see the car begin to turn, assuming there is no other hazard preventing you from doing so.

In fact even if the car was correctly signalling left you would do exactly the same thing, as a rule you should never trust other road users to indicate properly.

That’s what I thought pal, cheers!

Won't get a minor for that. End of the day you never ever assume, even if they are indicating to get off and on the approach to the exit and potentially even already turning their wheels towards it, you don't know they're going to follow through. Some of the stuff I've seen - it's clear THEY don't even know where they're going lol. There's a difference between hesitating and playing it safe.
