I'm in year 9 and am currently struggling with choosing my GCSE subjects. I know for sure that I am going to be doing Citizenship, History, and Spanish, as well as the other compulsory subjects, but am currently stuck between Statistics and RM. Both subjects have been recommended to me. I want to be a solicitor when I'm older and understand that the forechosen subjects will be extremely useful for law. For your information, I do thoroughly enjoy Resistant materials and am good at it but don't know if it will undermine me as a student or come off as an "improper" subject. What do you think?

If you want to go into law, just make sure you get a good profile of GCSE grades across the board. As long as you have a solid set of grades, particularly in the core/compulsory subjects, unis aren’t going to look at what your other subjects were knowing how long ago you will have picked RM by the time you come to apply. Most students have a technology option where available, it doesn’t make you seem “improper”. Stats however will be useful if you plan to do a maths A level, but I doubt that’s the case if you’re pursuing law. Just pick whichever you enjoy more and/or will do best in.
